A Festive Toast with Real Ale
Seasonal beer and cheer from Grindleton [by Grindleton Brewhouse]

This Christmas and New Year, real ale drinkers will be raising a toast to Grindleton Brewhouse with the launch of their party casks and bottled real ales. From December 2008, customers can buy their favourite local tipple direct from the brewery to enjoy at home.

Founded in 2007, this Clitheroe-based brewery has already received recognition with its award winning Farley’s Dusk. Named after the brewery owners Labrador dog, this flavoursome, full bodied ale is brewed using a precise blend of five different malts. It is testament to the knowledge, care and passion that Ian Lait, Head Brewer, puts into every aspect of the brewing process.

Ian said; “Real ale is part of our local heritage. Bottled real ale gives people an opportunity to appreciate the taste and flavour in their home. For those who don’t normally order real ale in their local, it’s a great way to try and enjoy it for the first time. I recommend customers try drinking real ale with food as an alternative to wine.”

For those looking to host a celebration at home, Grindleton Brewhouse is also supplying its range of beers in 36, 72 or 144 pint casks. Each cask comes complete with a traditional hand pump and pump clip. Delivered and installed by the brewery, customers can now serve real ale to friends and family at home. Added Ian; “Serving real ale is always a winner with party guests. People really enjoy the experience of pulling their own pint.”

Available directly from the brewery in bottles are ‘Old Fecker’(4%), ‘Ribble Gold’(4.1%), ‘LPA’ (4.5%), ‘Farleys Dusk’(5.5%), Mandown (6%) and for the festive season ‘Secret Santa’ (4.4%). Bottled ales are available in cases and presentation gift sets.
