On a hot and sticky summer's day, a huddle of eager CAMRA members gathered outside the modest Three B's brewery and waited patiently for Robert Bell - owner and head brewer - to arrive with the keys. Soon enough we were ushered inside to the welcome coolness of the main brewing room.

The best brewery tours always start with a free sample of wares and this was no exception. No sooner had we found our bearings amongst the mash tuns and fermenting vats than we were led upstairs to the "common room" where a small bar supported four handpumps of Three B's finest ales.
Pints in hands, we replica rolex submariner all followed Robert back down to the brewing room for an informative introduction to Three B's brewery and a potted history. Robert's business is steadily expanding and is a genuine testament to East Lancashire real ale production, despite the close presence and national dominance of Thwaites. Whilst telling us of his growing success, Robert warily eyed up Gordon as he learned he was in the employ of the Inland Revenue!

The scale of Three B's is a stark contrast to the enormity of Thwaites (which we visited earlier in the year) though it is a much less clinical environment and it was quite enlightening to be stood amongst all of the brewing paraphernalia. By now even the innards of the brewery felt quite stifling due to the heat of the day, so a quick look at the barrels stacked in the cool room was much appreciated.patek philippe replica
We ventured back upstairs to mingle and chat as we had our empties refilled. We passed an enjoyable afternoon in the common room being very well attended to by Robert and his assistant, our glasses never running dry. Some of us were even allowed to stay to witness England get knocked out of the World Cup by Portugal - thankfully enough beer was on hand to drown our sorrows!
